For over 10 Years Bewdley Rotary have organised a photographic competition at The Bewdley School, and this year it was better and bigger than ever. The competition is split into Intermediate and Senior categories and the students were asked to submit photographs based on the theme “Happiness in Nature”. The competition attracted over 200 entries to a very high standard which challenged the Judges who had an extremely difficult task in selecting the winners and runners up.
On Thursday 5th March, the presentation at The Bewdley School was attended by parents and students. The parents were in awe at the quality of the photos and agreed with the judges that it must have been hard to select the winners and runners up. Due to the amount of excellent entries, the Headteacher decided to award two special prizes of books on Digital Photography.
Each winner received a book on photography and gift vouchers for £40, with the runners up also receiving the book and £20 in gift vouchers. All entrants received a certificate and highly commended pupils received an Easter egg also.
The winners were Senior, Gracie D and Intermediate, Paige C, the runners up being Emmiah R, Freya W and Jessie.
Bewdley Rotary are pleased and proud to support this annual event and must give thanks to the Judges; Bob Hill, Colin Hill and Shirley Bonas and to the Art Department at Bewdley School.
